The SIYAA offers a Youth Basketball League for all students in grades K-6. Leagues are divided into the following grade groups: K-2nd grade, 3rd-4th and 5th-6th grade. SIYAA Basketball follows the rules as laid out by the NCHSAA - North Carolina High School Athletic Association with modifications that include goal hight (K-2) and Period play time.

Basketball teams are usually divided along school lines and schools may field more than one team in each age bracket. K-2 teams are typically Co-ed while the 3-6 grades are divided into boys and girls teams along the following grade levels:

• K-2: Instructional League
• 3rd-4th Grade: Jr. Varsity
• 5th-6th Grade: Varsity
